Our mission is to provide support to the parish, fellow ministries, and religious staff of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, foster a sense of community among its parishioners, and promote the Catholic faith and the parish’s presence in the greater community.
To this end the Guild organizes the following activities for the parish and
community:
- Annual School Supplies Drive for at risk children
- Christmas Bazaar held the second Saturday of November
- Mardi Gras Dinner Dance for the parish
- Rosary and celebratory gifts for OLOA Confirmandi
- Confirmation and First Holy Communion receptions
- Sponsoring a Simple Supper and Stations during Lent
- Annual Easter Egg Hunt
- Service Awards for graduating high school seniors
- Christening blankets to welcome our newest members
- Special receptions as needed by the parish
- Providing supplemental parish needs such as the Shrine to our Lady
Additionally, the Guild supports the endeavors of the community by:
- Hosting the annual Interfaith Service reception every third November
- Contributing to the Knights of Columbus annual coat drive
- Contributing to the annual Archbishop’s Appeal
- Participating in community events such as “Light the Night” sponsored by the Town of Woodbridge
