About the Guild

Our mission is to provide support to the parish and priests of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, foster a sense of community among its members, practice social work and charity, and promote the Catholic faith and parish’s presence in the greater community.

To this end the Guild organizes the following activities for the parish and
community:

  • Annual School Supplies Drive for at risk children
  • Christmas Bazaar held the second Saturday of November
  • Outdoor Decorating Contest during December emulating Jesus’ message of love, kindness and goodwill toward all
  • Mardi Gras Dinner Dance for the parish
  • Rosary and celebratory gifts for Confirmands
  • Confirmation and First Holy Communion receptions
  • Sponsoring one of the Simple Suppers and Stations dinners during Lent
  • Annual Easter Egg Hunt
  • Service Awards for graduating high school seniors
  • Mother’s Day and Father’s Day mass cards
  • Christening blankets to welcome our newest members
  • Special receptions as needed by the parish
  • Providing supplemental parish needs such as a defibrillator case for the
    vestibule

Additionally, the Guild supports the endeavors of the community by:

  • Hosting the annual Interfaith Service reception every third November
  • Contributing to the Knights of Columbus annual coat drive
  • Contributing to the annual Archbishop’s Appeal
  • Participating in community events such as “Light the Night” sponsored by the Town of Woodbridge
